The Ask
To explore the use of fiber through textile construction & design
Introduction to Textile
Was introduced to basic textile techniques, tools, and materials. This course displayed basic dyeing, weaving, felt-making, embroidery, & sewing techniques.
Construction Techniques
Was introduced to the basic principles involved in garment construction with an emphasis on professional design-room practices in sewing, pressing, & finishing of garments.
Fabric Design
Explored the use of dye and pigment techniques for fabric, along with pattern & print development and conceptual use of fabric.
Outcome
Through a diverse range of classes, I was able to explore the diverse range of functions of fibers and textiles as a whole. I plan to utilize this knowledge in both my future creative and business-related projects.
