Victorian Vault

The Ask

To create a slide deck that encompasses each generation’s women’s wear, men’s wear, & accessory trends.

  • Each generation was studied and researched, using the course (Contemporary Fashion) textbook, blog posts (such as GlamorDaze & Vintage Dancer), and museum databases (including the Fashion & Textile Museum). Each sub-section from a singular generation contains three pieces, accompanied by a description of its use and importance.

  • Photos were taken from reputable bloggers who regularly study the looks of each generation. Each picture is either an original piece or a graphic representation of the looks of the time.

  • The slide deck was created using Canva, in which browns & golds, and Victorian era elements were added in order to bring together the research.

Process

Outcome

Though only displaying the Victorian-era slide deck, this project allowed me to get a better sense of the fashion of each era, both visually and descriptively. By improving my prior deck, I was able to see where I went wrong design-wise and improve upon it through better spacing, cohesiveness, and overall presentation to the viewer themselves.
